Kidston's Spring 2022 Newsletter

Our whole team is gearing up for summer!

On April 30th, we hosted our annual Spring Work Day and Open House to get Kidston cleaned up and ready for the summer - thank you to the fantastic group of volunteers who helped out, despite the wet weather!

On May 15th, we held our Summer Staff Orientation with our incredible team of new and returning staff. Their excitement for the summer is contagious!

Over the next few weeks, we have staff attending Canoe training, Low Elements training, Maritime United Church Camp training, and more - all as we prepare for another amazing summer.

Only 35 days until our first campers of Summer 2022 arrive on site... not that we're counting!

Summer 2022 Updates

More information on 2022 camp sessions can be found here and registration can be completed online here. There are still a few spaces open for new registrations in Senior (ages 12-16) sessions. If a session you’re interested in is full, please add your name to the waitlist!

Given our high registration numbers, we are looking to fill one more Camp Counsellor position - more information can be found here and online applications can be submitted here. Please share the message with any youth looking for an incredible, rewarding, and impactful summer experience!

Family Camping

Want to share the Kidston experience with your friends and family? Family Camping at Kidston is the perfect opportunity!

Similar to 2021, families/groups can rent a cabin or a tent/trailer site and are responsible for their own gear, food, and activities. During your stay, your family/group will have access to Kidston’s beautiful site, including the waterfront, canoeing/kayaking, hiking, and more!

Optional activities will be offered each morning and afternoon, and Kidston Staff will be on site to provide assistance throughout the weekend.

More information (and registration) can be found here.

Make a Difference in a Child's Summer

For more than 55 years, Camp Kidston has provided young people with a unique opportunity to escape everyday stressors and to experience community, connection, and faith through outdoor adventure and play.

Each year, Kidston offers thousands of dollars in sponsorship support to families who would not otherwise be able to afford summer camp. We know the positive impact a week of summer camp can have on a young person – building confidence, developing leadership skills, making new friends, learning new things – and we firmly believe that summer camp should be accessible to all children and youth. In 2021, through the support of our generous donors, Kidston provided financial assistance to over 60 campers!

In order to offer sponsorship to families in need, we rely on our amazing community of supporters – and you can make a tangible difference in a young person's summer.

If you are able, please consider donating to our sponsorship fund via Canada Helps here. Every amount, no matter how much, will directly help a camper.

Camp Kidston is a registered charity and donations are tax deductible.
