Kidston's Leadership Programs might be for you!
For youth ages 14-16, our Junior Leader (JL) Program is a 5-night camp session designed to identify and develop personal strengths and professional skills, foster leadership in practice, and facilitate teamwork. The JL Program includes a combination of workshops, training, practical experience, and coaching - all within a summer camp context that is fun, active, and adventure-based!
After completing the Junior Leader Program (or equivalent), youth ages 15-17 can apply for the Counsellor-in-Training (CIT) Program in following summers. The CIT Program includes a 5-night training program, a 5-night shadow week, and is followed by the opportunity to volunteer to support cabin counsellors with campers for additional camp sessions. CITs are supported and mentored by our Personnel Director and Leadership Program Assistant during their time volunteering with cabins, to support their growth and ensure they have a positive learning experience.

CIT & Junior Leader registration/applications will open in February 2026!
CITs and JLs are registered online just like campers but will be considered waitlisted until accepted into the program.
In addition, both JL and CIT registration requires an additional form to be filled out by the youth applicant (via the registration portal). See below for more about the application requirements.
Only upon acceptance into the JL or CIT program will registration fees be required.
For equal consideration for the JL or CIT program, apply by March 1st, 2026

Letter of Reference (for CITs)

Their letter should:
-
Indicate the applicant's level of responsibility
-
Tell us about the applicant's character and ambitions
-
Acknowledge that there is no reason—to their knowledge—why the applicant should not work with minors or vulnerable individuals
