Kidston's 2022 Holiday Newsletter
2022 was filled with new adventures at Kidston. After several years impacted by pandemic restrictions, we had the privilege of returning to a full summer program once again. It was absolutely incredible to welcome even more campers to Kidston - and, just like always, it was wonderful to hear laughter throughout camp, share in the joy and fun of new games and adventures, and listen to the echoes of camp songs across the lake.
We know that the pandemic has had an immense impact on our young people, and believe that the healing power of acceptance, belonging, faith, and play found at summer camp is needed now more than ever. We remain beyond grateful for the support of our extended community that continues to make this possible at Kidston.
Thank you for being a part of Kidston this year - we can't wait to see you again in 2023!
Our Year in Review
We welcomed 328 campers to Kidston for in-person summer programs in July and August.
26 young adults developed their leadership skills and benefitted from meaningful summer employment at Kidston.
As pandemic restrictions opened up, we were able to host a variety of church, non-profit, and professional rental groups at Kidston.
On our site, much-needed renovations and replacements have been completed. Roofs were replaced, painting and organizing has happened throughout the Wilson lodge, out-trip sites have been cleared, and more!
With the generous support of many donors and community members, new waterfront docks were purchased and installed in the lake.
Hundreds of volunteer hours have generously been shared by many people: at work parties, on committees, and on the Board.
This wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support from each and everyone of you: camp families, staff, alumni, volunteers, and community members. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Thank you for your generous support of Kidston's most recent fundraising campaign, to replace two cabin roofs and low elements program equipment. We have now surpassed $2,000 in donations, and will continue fundraising into the new year. Donations can be made at anytime via our online Canada Helps page located here.
We look forward to sharing updates and photos in Spring 2023!
